St. Gabriel's Secondary School

"Servant Leader; Lifelong Learner; Gracious Citizen"

About SGSS

St. Gabriel’s Secondary School is an all-boys school and is one of the seven institutions of the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel.  Our mission is to shape the lives of Gabrielites who will serve the community as Servant Leaders, and who are themselves, Lifelong Learners and Gracious Citizens.  Our philosophy of education is guided by the Montfortian Education Charter, formed by an understanding and study of the life and works of St. Louis Marie de Montfort.

School History

St. Gabriel’s School began on 3 June 1953 as a primary school with 212 students under our first principal, Reverend Brother Louis Gonzaga. He died in 1716, leaving behind a legacy of serving the poor and “those whom the world rejects”. In 1969, the Primary School moved to its new premises in Highland Road. The Secondary School became single-session and was reorganized to cater for technical education, before moving to its present location at Serangoon Avenue 1 In May 1992. The religious brothers led the school for 30 years till 1983 before the leadership was passed on to lay Principals.
